That just about sums up our last few weeks, and it should explain why none of you have heard from us in a while. What began as the common cold quickly developed into something far more sinister... Chitis, which is Sorenson slang for bronchitis, because we are on such intimate terms with it now. Rocky and Jack have almost completed their physician prescribed amoxicillin, while I am just starting up on Mexican-manufactured Penicillin, which just reminded me of the "Found a Peanut" song.. Of course, didn't that person die anyway? Don't worry, my chitis isn't that dire, but I'm starting to wonder if these monthly infections the kids and I have been experiencing for quite some time now indicate a larger problem, such as an allergy to oxygen?? We exercise, take our vitamins, eat healthy and laugh constantly. Doesn't that guarantee moderate immunity? If any of you have theories or miraculous cutting-edge cures (that we haven't already tried and deemed ineffective), please let me know.
(Dad has taken good care of us all)
Rocky's recovery convinced him that he had attained superhero status and he, unexpectedly one morning, demanded a cape. Then, since Jack had greatly reduced his number of coughing spells, Rocky determined that Jack needed one too.
It was at this moment that I realized, without a doubt, that these children are genetically mine because I have been known to spontaneously don capes too... like at Girl's Camp during high school for no apparent reason. Rocky then informed me that he was no longer to be called Rocky OR David, but Batman. He pointed to his caped baby brother and called him Scooby Jack. I fail to see the connection. Robin seemed the obvious choice, but I applaud his creativity. I am also pleased with his choice of Batman, because I think that's what I used to call myself too (when I was 16). By the time Dad got home from work, Batman had decided that his cape was lacking and asked dad to make him a REAL Batman costume. After 15 minutes of scavenging around the house, this is what he came up with...

You guys are so darn cute!!
I finally started a blog and am going to add you to my list of friends. I need to be able to read your blog and laugh on a more regular basis. I will never forget the post about running out of formula and running into the store without shoes on.

Hey Jodi, You should try Pro-biotics! After all of you are on anti-biotics it kills your immune system and then it is easier to keep getting infections. Pro-biotics replaces the good bacteria that the anti-biotics kill. Does that make any sense? I have given it to my girls and I have taken it before when I went through a spell where I just kept getting sick. I really feel like it helps.
Oh, the days of Jodi in a cape... Thanks for a good morning laugh!
I love the Batman costume. How do you guys have the energy and creativity?
I love the Batman costume that was put together. Rocky appears to love it too! As for the sickness, definitely try the probiotics (also called acidophilus) that your friend recommended. It's the good bacteria that is also found in yogurt, only more concentrated. The pills you refrigerate are usually best. You can break them open and mix in kids food. Also, as soon as you feel yourself getting sick, take some Emergen-C. You mix it into juice or water and it makes a fizzy drink. You might still get sick but it won't last as long (at least that's what seems to work for us). Hang in there though... winter sickness can be miserable.
Sorry for all the sickness going around. Glad you have a good husband to take care of you and kids that make you (and everyone else) SMILE.
We missed you at church. We were going to invite you to dinner (even though we had a roast, not duck). We will try again soon, when I have defrosted the duck and when I have some of the yummy marinade for it). William can do the barbequing. (I think I may even still have a high chair, but doubt it (Andrew is 7).)
Your boys are so creative. I have a feeling that the Sorenson house is a fun place to be.
I love reading your blog! Seriously I laugh my heed off every time.
Bronchitis is THE WORST. I had it for 5.5 weeks this time last year. The worst part is the cough attacks/fits. I'm not gonna lie, I peed my pants on 3 separate occasions the coughing was so bad. My heart goes out to all you inhaler puffing, snot coughing, flemmers.
Rich, ever consider a career in costume design on the side? Awesome job.
Jodi, Rocky rules. If he ever decides to make lime-aid and is out of water, tell him to go door to door. Afterall, we turned out okay didn't we?
