Rocky is 3!

Of course, if you ask how old he is, he will tell you 4 and a half. The fun began the morning of his birthday (July 14th) when he awoke to find the hobby store train set that mom would drag him away kicking and screaming from every time we went grocery shopping (the hobby store was next door and the train set could be seen from the window). This could be one of the reasons I got so dizzy and faint every time I went grocery shopping towards the end of the pregnancy. Hmm. So to make a long story short, the hobby store went out of business and I used my Tijuana bartering skills to get a killer deal on the train set and table. No more train tantrums, and he's now distracted for longer intervals! Happy birthday to both of us! Now I can pay some attention to Jack Jack. Fortunately, we bought his present a few months in advance because sleep-deprived mom and dad, and anxiety-ridden mom (suffering from Dysphoric Milk Ejection Reflex ... don't ask...) were in no condition to shop nor plan a birthday bash, so our loving family here in Chico stepped in to help. That night Grandma Pam and Grandpa Rick had a little party for him at their house with hot dogs, swimming, presents and cake. Then the following evening, we went to Uncle Mort and Aunt Lacie's to celebrate Rocky and cousin Shane's birthday. After yummy home-made Cafe Rio pork burritos, we devoured a chocolate construction site cake. Of course, Rocky (and several of the big boys) had to drive the trucks all over the cake BEFORE we ate it. Luckily, it tasted better than it looked.

What a happy birthday boy! Train tables are so awesome... no wonder he would kick 'n scream when you had to leave the hobby store. We're glad Rocky had a good birthday.

Boys will be boys no matter the age huh? Killer train set! Happy Birthday to you guys. I hope things are going well and the whispering has begun. I seriously LOVE her accent don't you? It's like having your own marry poppins in the house.

That train will last him forever! I do have it on good authority that Adam still plays with his to this day and has been know to go shopping for more parts because he wants to make the track bigger and better! (He spent more time designing his tracks than he did actually driving the train on it while we were growing up!)

Happy birthday Rocky!!!

Hey guys! (its Andre's wife) Congrats on the new little guy, he's a cutie! I love Rocky's new haircut, too! Andre insists we have to let Gavin's hair grow out like that!

PS. I am laughing hysterically at the Rocky's GF post...I so needed that, thanks! :D

Hey Jodi, it's been a long time...

I found Molly Claflin on facebook and asked for your contact info. She gave me your number, but then I saw this blog on a link from Kate's.

Congrats on the new baby. I briefly read through things...it sounds like you are in California?

Anyhow, I have a medical question for you and so if you would send me an email, my address is emily@thesonoragrill.com.

Thanks,
Emily (Malouf) Ballard
