Rich's Running Results

When Rich decides to do something, he really DOES it. It's all or nothing for him, and when it came to getting into shape, he gave it his all! He ignored my fitness suggestions and created a sporting activity that is all his own: Speedo-clad mountain running. I'm not joking. After only 2 months of dedicated running, he is enjoying incredible results. Check out the before/after pictures:

Next step: Blow this picture up into poster size, mass produce and sell on E-bay. Edward and Jacob have nothing on you babe! I mean, dang! What a hottie! He is now inspiring others to follow in his path... though I'm sure the running apparel will vary... no offense to the Speedo. It just takes a special man to don one of those. Good work Richard G!

Month of the Mommas

In the last month and a half, we've been fortunate enough to have not one, but three maternal visits. It could be because it's summer, it could be because our kids are too adorable to resist, or maybe they got fed up with finicky Utah weather and needed some consistent California sunshine. Whatever the reason, we've been loving their visits. The kids have enjoyed music in the park, wagon rides, ice cream, swimming, snuggles and all the love a couple of doting Grandmas can give. The kids also enjoyed some good bonding time with Grandpa Bill. Rich did some bonding of his own, with Momma K. They would make a cute couple. I mean, why should he want the junior version, when the original is still available? :)

Nah.... sorry mom. Rich and I make a pretty cute couple too...

Don't worry. Momma K has the undying love and affection of these two boys. You should have seen the tears they shed when it was time for her to head home. Same thing with Momma C...

We've also been spending a lot of time with friends. Here are some of the highlights:

1. Zumba parties with the Zumba Crew

2. Band gigs with Fiction Millenium:

3. Boating at Lake Oroville:

4. In Motion Fitness party and Guitar Hero with Andy Van Halen

5. Birthday parties:

(We were in awe of the most incredible cake known to man: a white chocolate Spiderman cake.... and we were singing Happy Birthday...)

My baby Jack Jack is 2?!

Today is Jack's 2nd birthday. Has it really been 2 years since the lil' tough guy entered our lives?? Since none of his immediate family was able to be with him on his 1st birthday.... long story involving a trip to Utah and a triple surgery for big brother... we are going big today for the big boy. Rich started the day off with a heaping, hot plate of French Toast, a Jack Jack favorite... his diet consists solely of bread products. Rocky surprised us by giving his beloved little brother his prized possession... his blankie. What a sweetheart! We'll have to see what happens at bedtime though.  Jack awoke with a new attitude and strut this morning as if knowing he has arrived at the terrible 2's and plans to utilize his newfound independence to the fullest... as you can see from the video below.

Grandma K has made his b-day special with a weekend visit and the coolest transforming robot truck toy that is so human that it's creepy. Jack's reaction shows how amazed he was with this new robotic addition to the family. Do you feed this truck? He is seriously alive. In the words of Jack, this year will "oke la door" to new toddler possibilities. I can't wait.
